The Danish Elon Musk

If you watched DR1 last night, you saw GladTeknik’s founder and owner, Mathias Emil Nielsen, participate in “Løvens Hule”. In the program, Jacob Risgaard says to Mathias: “You are the Danish Elon Musk”. We asked Mathias what thoughts he had in connection with Jacob Risgaard’s statement.

How was your experience in “Løvens Hule”?  

It was surreal. Standing in front of the lions and lionesses was an indescribable feeling. It was also intense because I was in there for 1½ hours and I was asked a lot of questions. Luckily, I was well prepared and felt that I had a good flow throughout my pitch.

    What did you think when Jacob Risgaard said “You are the Danish Elon Musk”?

I was surprised. I’ve never been called that before. I think Jacob Risgaard said it because I presented how GladTeknik automates in an efficient way. Maybe he also said it because we work with IT.

Do you see the comparison?

To be honest, I think the only thing I have in common with Elon Musk is the diagnosis of “Asperger’s syndrome”. We are both examples of how you can achieve a lot despite your challenges. I hope this can show others that anything is possible when you find the joy in your passion. For me, that’s GladTeknik. It makes me feel like I’m doing something good for other people every day.

    How would you describe yourself?

That’s a good question. I’m good at memorizing numbers and I have a great passion for IT. I am solution-oriented, which is a quality I use in the repair center every day.

I see being different as an advantage. It means that my employees and I approach the tasks in a different way than others in the industry.

  What are you most looking forward to in working with Jacob Risgaard and the CoolGroup team?  

I look forward to learning from other skilled and competent people who have a lot of knowledge and experience. I believe that we can help each other by sparring. In this way, GladTeknik can develop and accomplish more in the future.
